5.4 Strategic Planning and Assessment
|
One of my favorite projects from my Practicum course at McDaniel was my School Library Program Assessment. This assignment gave me the opportunity to build some experience with aligning my media program to a school goal more directly, and using data to guide my decision making.
I feel that this is a strong artifact thanks to its authenticity. My McDaniel mentor for the semester encouraged me to select a project that would be meaningful not only to me, but to my school community as well. This project reflects that highly meaningful work: I’m proud of the plan that our community created together. I also feel that I learned a lot about collecting data from the staff- it’s not always easy to collect information from busy staff members! In the future, I’ll look for more creative ways to draw in stakeholders for input: their collaboration matters to projects like this one. This artifact represents an area that greatly needed some help from the media center: I was able to align our services to what would benefit our learners directly. I saw a need, and created a plan to address it. I hope to create many more plans like this in my future, to ensure that my program stays current and connected to school wide goals and student success! |
