"I don't have to look far to find treasures, I discover them every time I visit a library."
-Michael Embry |
Welcome to My Portfolio! This website is a collection of artifacts from my coursework towards earning my M.S. in School Librarianship from McDaniel College. Each of the tabs above reflects one of the American Library Association's Standards for School Librarians. My personal goal for this portfolio is to create a living document which provides strong evidence of the variety of great things going on in my elementary school media center this year! I’m hoping to use my portfolio as a starting point for future advocacy of my program, and school library programs everywhere.

How to Explore this Portfolio
Along the top menu of this page, you'll find the ALA's 5 Standards. You can access each standard by clicking on it individually, or you can start on Standard 1, Objective 1.1. Use the "Next" button at the bottom of each page to view the portfolio sequentially. You will also notice that portions of each objective are emphasized with bold font at the top of the page: this emphasis shows the specific portion of the standard my artifacts reflect. Since this portfolio is a working document, I hope to continue to grow my artifact collection to completely demonstrate each standard and objective. Use the button below to start browsing with Standard 1: Teaching for Learning.
